Synnex(2347TW) Q4’18 revenue remained NT$ 100bn level, Distribution BU reached historical high level

Synnex preliminary consolidated financial results were as follows:

Synnex consolidated Dec’18 reached NT$34.4bn, as the same level as November. Q4’18 revenue totaled NT$101.1bn, remaining historical high level of NT$100bn, with decrease of 6% comparing to the highest point in prior year.

 

Despite of the tough macro-economic environment, Synnex distribution BU still broke the historical new record in single quarter, Q4’18 revenue reached to around NT$ 80bn level. It is mainly due to the grasp of market trend and continuous increase in the market share. As for IC components, intense trade war and the short supply of Intel CPU affected the manufacturing schedule and demand from manufacturing type of customers, leading the Q4’18 revenue significantly dropped with 26%YoY.

 

Synnex distribution BU revenue totaled NT$79.2bn in Q4’18, with growth of 2% YoY. By geographic prospect, the performance in China and Hong Kong was outstanding, both reached 8% YoY. Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia kept stable. The performance in Taiwan dropped 7%YoY due to election affected the consumer demand. By products aspect, the stunning performance in commercial market was mainly from high demand in data center, internet security and cloud service, reaching YoY growth of 17%, showing that the enterprise still continuous invested for future development. Tablet revenue increased 12% YoY because launch of new product brought the replacement for new model. Synnex aggressively developed in eSports and smart devices field, showing double-digit growth with 5% contribution of overall revenue. As a result of short supply of CPU, notebook, PC and PC component products declined from 2% to 8%. Telecom revenue dropped 7% because of low demand from the lack of eye-catching product.

 

IC component revenue was NT$21.8bn in Q4’18, significantly decreased 26% YoY comparing from the highest point in prior year of NT$29.7bn. Due to major customers’ supply chains in Taiwan, China and Hong Kong affected from the numerous impact of trade war, as well as the short supply of Intel CPU causing the disturbance in manufacturing schedule, customers became hesitant toward order willing.
