Synnex Metrodata Indonesia (SMI) recently celebrated the grand opening of Phase II of its Jakarta Logistics Center, demonstrating Synnex's commitment to deepening its presence and continuing growth in the Indonesian market. In 2024, Synnex Indonesia's revenue surpassed USD$1200 million, securing its position as the leading ICT distributor in the country. With the launch of this new phase, the company expects to enhance product distribution, expand channel coverage, and reduce operational costs. Synnex Indonesia is optimistic about continued revenue growth in the years ahead.
In 2011, Synnex formed a joint venture with PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk. (ME), Indonesia's largest and longest-established IT group. By leveraging Synnex Group's multinational operations experience and long-term collaborations with major global brands, along with ME's strong operational capabilities and extensive channel network, the two parties have joined forces to explore the growing ICT opportunities in Indonesia, the world's fourth most populous country. Since its inception, the company has experienced rapid growth, with revenue reaching historic highs for four consecutive years. In 2024, its revenue surpassed USD$1200 million, nearly a tenfold increase since the joint venture began, with profits growing more than 33 times—a testament to its outstanding performance.
Currently, Synnex Indonesia operates in 29 major cities across the country, directly serving over 6,000 resellers. Its channel coverage spans system integrators, e-commerce platforms, retail chains, and ICT specialty stores. With 22 logistics centers across Indonesia, Synnex Indonesia is the only ICT distributor in the country with a comprehensive local presence, covering more than 330 cities and all major islands.
With a population of over 280 million, Indonesia is the fourth most populous nation in the world and is currently experiencing rapid economic growth. To enhance its product offerings, expand its channel reach, and improve service quality for both vendors and customers, Synnex Indonesia acquired land in Jakarta in 2019 to build its own logistics center. The facility significantly boosted operational efficiency and customer satisfaction upon completion. Shortly afterward, the company began investing in Phase II, which has now been completed and inaugurated. The total investment for both phases exceeded USD$17 million. This expansion positions Synnex Indonesia to better meet growing market demands and further widen its lead over competitors.
