On October 27, Evans S. W. Tu, president of SYNNEX Technology International Corp (TWSE: 2347), was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Global Views Leader Forum for his achievements in corporate leadership and outstanding contributions to the industry.
Each year, the Global Views Leader Forum invites more than 60 leaders from industry, government, and academia, and attracts more than 7,000 prominent business, economic, political, and cultural figures. The Global Views Leader Forum is a high-profile platform for knowledge exchange in the Chinese-speaking world. On that occasion, the Global Views Leader Forum introduced the Lifetime Achievement Award to honor outstanding leaders. The award winners included Morris Chang, the founder of TSMC, Ju Ming, one of Taiwan’s most prominent artists, and Bruce Cheng, the founder of Delta Electronics.
The Global Views Leader Forum pointed out that Evans S. W. Tu founded SYNNEX in 1988, pioneering the concept of a professional distribution company. His idea was to provide integrated services for the supply chains of high-tech industries. This greatly enhanced the professionalism, service content, and value of traditional distributors. Evans S. W. Tu completely transformed the distribution industry ecosystem and was voted one of the Top Ten Key Figures in the History of Taiwan’s Information Industry Development. SYNNEX operates in 51 countries and regions around the world and is the largest distribution service provider of IT, communication, consumer electronics, and semiconductor products in the Asia-Pacific region. In recent years, the company has further expanded its business by becoming an "industry service provider," creating a Management Service Platform (MSP) and joining hands with its partners in the supply chain ecosystem with the vision of achieving co-existence, co-prosperity, and co-benefits. In addition, Evans S. W. Tu is one of the few best-selling authors who continue to write. His reflections on business and channel management have been widely applauded in both the business and academic communities as teaching materials for business management.
