There are generally three types of individual, which type are you?

Individuals can be generally categorised into the following categories:

1.Individuals who are able to learn with minimal effort

2.Individuals who are only able to learn after dedicating a considerable amount of effort

3.Individuals who fail to learn even after dedicating a considerable amount of effort

However this categorisation is rather simplistic. In reality, we find that:

Individuals of the first type mostly learn by closely observing, reading about or listening to other's past experiences. They critically reflect upon other's experience and as a result acquire a lot of knowledge with minimal effort.

These individuals also learn through experience for certain matters: some of them learn through constant trial and error, while others are incapable of learning despite the considerable effort and price they have paid through repeated failures. However as these failures are irrelevant to their career development, they are not at all substantial.

The key to become individuals of the first type lies in our ability to work hard and make use of the most effective learning techniques.

Individuals of the second type generally learn through the experiences they gain from constant trial and error. Although some of them are able to learn quickly like individuals of the first type, a significant majority of them like individuals of the third type, fail to learn despite their repeated failures. Their acquired knowledge and experiences are often limited as they require a significant amount of time and effort to learn.

Despite these individuals being hardworking, they can never become individuals of the first type as they lack the ability to think critically.

Individuals of the third type are incapable of learning from their failures even when they have suffered from significant consequences. These individuals continue to make the same mistakes and because these mistakes are closely linked to their career, their career path is heavily impacted in the long run.

The problem with these individuals lies in their inability to discipline themselves. As they are used to making decisions based on their feelings, they are unwilling to correct their behaviour even when a heavy price has been paid for their failures. Not only do they affect themselves, they also affect the people around them.

We can better understand the differences between the above categories if we categorise the people we know in them.
