IT and consumer electronics channel distributor Synnex Technology International has disclosed its joint venture, PT Synnex Metrodata, in Indonesia has achieved impressive sales growth since its establishment in 2011.
The JV had 2019 sales revenues from the Indonesia market six times the level in 2010 before its establishment and the corresponding net operating profit 18 times the 2010 figure, with respective 2010-2019 compound annual growth rates being 25.1% and 37.5%, according to the company.
The JV was established with PT Metrodata Electronics, the largest IT distributor in Indonesia, with each side holding a 50% stake, Synnex said.
PT Synnex Metrodata is an IT component, hardware and software distributor for more than 90 international vendors including Intel, Microsoft, Apple, HP, Dell, Seagate Technology, Cisco Systems and Samsung Electronics, and has deployed 20 marketing bases in 150 cities to serve about 4,500 local sales agents.
PT Synnex Metrodata brought in revenues of NT$27 billion (US$893 million) in 2019, increasing nearly 20% on year, and kept maintaining the largest market share, company CEO Agus Honggo Widodo noted.
In 2018 PT Synnex Metrodata obtained Indonesian government certification to become one of several qualified suppliers for government procurement projects - a main source of business growth in 2020.
To hike efficiency in logistics, PT Synnex Metrodata invested NT$600 million to construct a logistics center in Jakarta and completed it in first-quarter 2019.
