Windows IoT是Windows OS系列成員，透過其內嵌的使用經驗，提供更強大的安全性與管理能力，允許使用者應用在特定用途，如ATM、零售、工業自動化系統、Thin Client、醫療裝置、數位看板、Kiosk以及其他固定用途裝置，此部分透過授權合約來限制。

目前Windows IoT共有三種類型OS：

Windows IoT Enterprise	完整功能的Windows Enterprise 提供將裝置鎖定至一組特定應用程式和週邊設備功能
Windows Server IoT	完整功能的Windows Server
Windows IoT Core	Windows作業系統系列的最小成員只執行單一應用程式

微軟為提供使用者更好的體驗，在2021年下半年推出了Windows 11 IoT Enterprise、Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 21H2以及Windows Server IoT 2022。

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise

微軟在2021/10/5日正式推出Windows 11 IoT Enterprise，此版本是Windows 10 IoT Enterprise下一個版本，也是目前最重要的一次更新。此版本提供了強化的使用者經驗，以及更可靠且安全的連線與管理能力，並相容於Windows 10 IoT既有的基礎建置，讓使用者可以更方便的升級與導入。

Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 21H2

微軟在2021/11/16日正式推出Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 21H2，此次release包含2個OS版本：Annual Release和Long-Term Servicing Channel，分別有「30個月」與「10年」的support lifecycle。

Widows Server IoT 2022

微軟於2021/8/19日正式推出Windows Server IoT 2022，Windows Server IoT 2022是Windows Server 2022的完整版。 Windows Server IoT 2022享有完整Windows系統的所有優點，客戶可以使用一般用途伺服器熟悉使用的管理和開發工具。但針對銷售方式，Windows Server IoT 2022僅能用在固定用途的裝置，像是零售、醫療、製造業或者其他產業許多專用的解決方案，而授權僅能透過OEM Channel取得合法授權。

Windows Server IoT 2022屬於長期維護版本(Logn-Term Servicing Channel, LTSC)的作業系統，長期維護版本自正式推出日開始，微軟提供「五年」的主要支援，以及「五年」的延伸支援總計共「10年」的支援。長期維護版本適用於需要長期維護的選項以及功能穩定性的系統。

• Security

在Windows Server IoT 2022中，使用者可以利用Secured-core Server及Secured connectivity達到多層級安全性。

Secured-core Server代表微軟的硬體合作夥伴提供了硬體、韌體及驅動程式，以幫助客戶強化重要的系統安全性。 IT和SecOps Team可以透過Secured-core Server的橫跨硬體、韌體甚至虛擬化層級的預防性防護，廣泛地應用在各環境中強化伺服器安全。

Secured connectivity為傳輸的過程增加了一層安全保護，在新功能增加了更快速且更安全的安全加密傳輸協議(HTTPS)以及支援Server SMB協議的AES-256產業加密標準。

• Hybrid

透過混合雲以及多雲方法達到數位轉型，現在客戶可於本地端Windows Server IoT 2022作業系統透過Azure Arc功能使用Azure雲服務。除此之外，Windows Server IoT 2022的使用者，可以享有Windows Server IoT 2022於File Server上的增加功能，像是SMB Compression。 SMB Compression透過在網路傳輸時壓縮資料的方式，改善應用程式的傳輸。

最後，伺服器管理者最愛的工具Windows Admin Center，整合了Server中各項管理工具，像是新的事件檢視器及支援與Azure連結的方案的Proxy Gateway，讓管理者擁有現代化伺服器的管理體驗。

• Flexible Application Platform

Windows Server IoT 2022作業系統支援高達48TB的實體記憶體、最高支援64個實體中央處理器以及2048個邏輯核心數以符合更高要求的應用程式規格。在此版本中的Windows Container對於應用程式的同時也進行了改進，像是引入可用於節點配置的HostProcess Container，支援IPv6。
