IT and consumer electronics channel distributor Synnex Technology International will invest NT$580 million (US$19.6 million) to expand an existing logistics center in Sydney, Australia, and acquire land in Melbourne at AUD19 million (US$13.2 million) for constructing a logistics center, according to the company.

Synnex will invest an estimated NT$1.5 billion to construct the logistics center in Melbourne over the next two years.

Synnex said it started operation of the logistics center in Sydney in 2014 but its capacity is becoming insufficient to meet fast growing business in Australia. The expansion of the center will increase logistics capacity by 65%.

Synnex has reported consolidated revenues of NT$28.978 billion for June, increasing 21.16% sequentially and 13.68% on year.

Synnex's consolidated revenues reached NT$76.1 billion in second-quarter 2020, growing 11% sequentially but dropping 2% on year.
